Activities
Activities are planned by our members for our members and their children. We have regular activities that occur every month, as well as a wide variety of other activities and outings. Below are examples of some of our recent and upcoming events and activities. A detailed calendar is mailed to members each month with their newsletter.
Regular Activities:
- All-Ages Playgroups: Playgroups for moms and their children of all ages occur twice a week. Playgroups are open to new members who are interested in joining the MOMS Club of Piney Orchard
- Moms’ Night Out: Takes place one evening each month (examples include movies, restaurants, game nights, painting pottery, and bowling).
- Business Meeting: Takes place once a month during a regularly scheduled playgroup time. Each month usually features a guest speaker or discussion topic relevant to moms and their families (examples include choosing a preschool, kid-friendly recipes, sign language)
- Board Meeting: Takes place the first week of each month.
- Activities Committee Meeting: Takes place the first week of each month.
Other Activities Include:
- Outings to area kid-friendly facilities and museums including the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, Storyville at the Rosedale Library in Baltimore, duckpin bowling, Skate Zone, Kids Club at Annapolis Mall, fire station, and the College Park Aviation Museum
- Lunches at local kid-friendly restaurants
- Craft times
- Free group trial classes
- Park and/or pool days
- Holiday parties and annual family picnic
- Service projects and fundraisers—including bake sales, backpack supply drive, one-stop shop, and an angel tree
- Seasonal outings—including apple picking, Green Meadows Farm, corn maze, Garden of Lights
